Andromeda Restaurant
If you're strolling through Camden and craving something flavorful, comforting, and just a little bit special, Andromeda Restaurant on Plender Street is one of those hidden London gems that instantly makes you feel like you've stumbled upon a local favorite. Tucked away just minutes from the buzz of Camden Market, this spot brings together hearty Mediterranean flavors with a welcoming vibe that feels both casual and genuinely warm.
The menu reads like a Mediterranean passport with Greek, Turkish, and Middle Eastern influences all coexisting beautifully. Let’s start with the Mixed Grill - a crowd-pleaser that delivers on both quantity and taste. Juicy cuts of lamb, chicken, and kofta, all expertly grilled, arrive on a sizzling plate with soft pita and a mountain of fragrant rice. It’s the kind of dish that sets the tone if you’re dining with an appetite.
Now, for those who like to start light, the Hot Mixed Starter offers a little bit of everything - crispy Spanakopita, tender calamari, and velvety hummus paired with warm bread. The Greek Salad, loaded with fresh tomatoes, olives, and a generous block of feta, is another refreshing choice that balances well with the richness of grilled meats.
Vegetarians won’t feel left behind here either. Dishes like Vegetable Moussaka and Gnocchi in creamy sauces show off the kitchen’s ability to go beyond the expected, crafting full-flavored plant-based meals without relying on shortcuts. The Risotto, surprisingly, also holds its own - creamy, well-seasoned, and comforting without being too heavy.
If you’re here for seafood, the Fish Meze is a standout. A delightful selection of grilled and marinated seafood options, perfectly seasoned, served with pickled sides and crisp salad - it’s light, zesty, and ideal for sharing.
One of the unsung heroes of the menu is the Kebab de Poulet - juicy chicken skewers that come off the grill with just the right amount of char. Paired with a side of crispy French Fries or rice, it’s a classic choice that satisfies without overcomplicating things.
And let’s not forget the drinks - cocktails, wine, beer, and even a cheeky Tequila if you're in the mood to celebrate something (or nothing at all). They’ve got a solid drinks list that complements the food without trying too hard. Plus, if you're into happy hour deals, this is the place to take advantage of those happy-hour drinks and small plates.
For the health-conscious, Andromeda also serves organic dishes, vegan and vegetarian options, and even has a salad bar for those who want to build their own lighter meal. There’s free water refills and halal food too, making the place inclusive and thoughtful toward diverse dietary preferences.
Andromeda’s interior is simple but inviting - think cozy seating, clean lines, and a laid-back vibe that suits both solo diners and groups. If the weather’s nice, grab a table outside and people-watch while enjoying your meal. The wheelchair-accessible entrance and seating make it a practical choice for everyone, although note there’s no accessible car park directly onsite.
What makes Andromeda Restaurant stand out isn’t just the food - it’s how well it blends convenience, affordability, and flavor into one compact experience. Whether you're in for a quick lunch break, a relaxing dinner, or just craving some late-night bites with good drinks, it fits the bill every time.
It’s one of those places you’ll find yourself recommending to friends - not because it’s trendy or flashy, but because it delivers where it counts: tasty food, good service, generous portions, and a laid-back vibe that keeps you coming back.

Absolutely phenomenal! This Greek Cypriot gem in Camden delivers on every front—authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and a vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a taverna on the island itself. The grilled halloumi was perfectly seared, the souvlaki tender and bursting with flavor, and the kleftiko? Melt-in-your-mouth magic. Every dish was clearly made with care and tradition, and the portions were more than generous. The staff were incredibly friendly, offering thoughtful recommendations and sharing stories behind the dishes. You can tell this place is family-run and fueled by genuine passion. Whether you’re after a quick bite or a long, relaxed dinner with friends and wine flowing, this spot is a must-visit. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
Excellent atmosphere, very enthusiastic and thoughtful service, definitely worth recommending! I had the best fried cheese so far here!
We had a truly "Greektastic" time at Andromeda in Camden! This traditional Greek restaurant offers a warm atmosphere and incredibly delicious, authentic food bursting with flavor. From the fantastic souvlaki to the delightful moussaka, every dish was a treat. The friendly service added to the wonderful experience. If you're craving a genuine taste of Greece in Camden, Andromeda is a must-visit!
Great restaurant. The staff were so lovely and gave us some complimentary extra starters as well as LIMONCELLO to finish. We were a group of 9 and it was the perfect dinner. Thank you.
A wonderful Greek neighbourhood restaurant. We always have the hot and cold mezze to start, around a dozen dishes for £11 something a head. A real Tarama, hummus, tzatziki, the yummy Gigantes butter beans in a tomato sauce, smoked loin, keftedes, potato salad and beetroot salad, all scooped up by pitta bread. My niece chose the kleftiko, an enormous lamb shank gently falling off the bone, my choice for next time! She allowed me a taste, moist, tender and perfect. With roast potatoes! I went for my default, moussaka- a real homemade towering mass of meat, aubergine, bechamel and potato, packed with flavour. Fun atmosphere, everyone having a good time, attentive good humoured front of house team, a bit cheeky! It's great to sit outside here on those rare dry summer evenings we treasure, in what feels like a quiet backwater just a few steps from the craziness that is Camden High Street. Stuffing yourself with good homemade Greek food.
